Juan Alonso Hernández, sacerdote espanhol da Congregação do Sagrado Coração, assassinado quando viajava de motocicleta entre Uspantán e Cunén, na região de El Quiché.
Seis homens mascarados e armados dispararam-lhe três balas na cabeça e jogaram seu corpo e a motocicleta num barranco.
Trabalhara 17 anos em El Petén e chegara, poucos dias antes a El Quiché.
